the brief - culture.
The Bailee Lodge is a collection of intimate, boutique hotels redefining luxury travel in Australia. With plans to expand to South Carolina, their mission is to deliver a premium, sustainable experience that seamlessly integrates with the local environment and culture. I propose a suite plan that will be deeply inspired by the native Gullah culture, incorporating furniture and textiles that honor the rich history of the island.
the flow of movement.
The lodge offers a truly intimate and unique experience, reflected in its expansive open floor plan. While interior doors are available to create privacy based on the guest's preference, the suite is designed to function seamlessly with all interior doors open. Much like the native dandelions that gently drift from place to place, the suite invites the free flow of air, light, and movement, allowing both people and energy to effortlessly transition between spaces.
minimalistic living.
The suite may be compact, embracing a minimalist style of living, but this is by no means a drawback. The Bailee Lodges strategically place their suites in culturally vibrant locations, encouraging guests to step outside and immerse themselves in the surrounding environment. After all, not every hotel room needs a TV to offer a fulfilling experience.
